Most of the aviation industry by now has heard of TruTrak as "The Autopilot People".
What they might not know is the reason why we set out to certify the autopilot and our target price point.
Most pilots want and need an autopilot in their aircraft, but for most retrofits, it's simply not feasible.
Taking a $20,000 - $60,000 aircraft and justifying spending $10,000 on an autopilot just doesn't make sense. Especially with most pilots spending their hard earned money on avionics upgrades for the ADSB 2020 compliance.
So why has TruTrak been successful with selling so many autopilot systems to these aircraft?
Andrew Barker's mission with the autopilot is to bring the price point down to an affordable mark without sacrificing performance.
The $5,000 price point is for the entire system, and installation costs vary between $2,000 and $3,000.
The top end of our system "out the door" has been $8,000, and this was done purposefully.
If pilots can't afford to place these systems in their aircraft, then the safety of General Aviation suffers.
TruTrak's price point is significantly less than other competitors hardware, such as Garmin, Trio, and Genesys.
Our mission has always been and will always be to serve the industry.
Aviation is our passion, and bringing safety to General Aviation at an affordable price is our mission.
